I arrived to the training camp base in Gainesville GA, on September 2nd to start off the world race. I didn't know anything about the training, except that we were going to be sleeping in tents.. but now that it's over I can say it was definitely an experience.
A typical day looks like:
*Devo time from 8:15-9
*Breakfast at 9 (dishes if it's your turn)
*Session/worship from 10-12
*Discussion time until 1:30
*LUNCH!!
*Free time from 2:30-3:30 ( bucket shower time lol)
*Session 3:30-5:30
*Discussion
*Supper around 7 (some culture meals and some regular meals)
*Clean up jobs (clean porta potties, dishes, or even just sweeping/mopping)
*Night activities such as: team builders, revival night, baptisms, or just a chill night to go into the word of God or maybe call home
*Head to camp and lights out by 11

There's so many things that happened, both good and bad, but I can honestly say that I'm glad I had the training camp experience. I learned so many things and also at the same time, questioned many things. I had to dig deeper in God's word to find the answers I needed.
Towards the end of our training camp, so many people were hit with a cold / flu. One day in particular, almost our whole team wasn't feeling very good.. but praise God it did not last long. It also poured rain one night, and we had a steady stream of water pour into our tent, but luckily there were people that came to get us so we could sleep in the worship area that night.
On another note, I became friends with my squad very quick and believe them to be lasting friendships. Everyone on my team is so considerate, kind, inviting, generous, and honestly just fun to be around. They each bring something to our team that is so fun to uncover!
I am super excited to see how God moves in the DR and how he's going to use us to plant seeds in people's lives!
